Quick answers

What vinyl do you use?
Most of our wraps are Avery Dennison MPI 1105 Easy Apply RS cast vinyl with DOL 1360 Max overlaminate. We also use 3M and other films when they fit the job better.
How long does a wrap last?
With good care, a quality printed wrap can look great for years. We print on HP Latex and Epson printers, and Avery's ICS Performance Guarantee covers printed 1105 with 1360 Max for up to 5 years on vertical vehicle surfaces when it's printed with approved printers and inks.
How long does the whole process take?
Most jobs take 2 to 4 weeks from order to install.
How many revisions do I get?
Your first concept plus 3 rounds of revisions, and nothing prints until you approve your proofs.
Can it come off?
Yes. On healthy factory paint, a quality film removes cleanly when it's time for a new look.

What types of vinyl are used for vehicle wraps?

There isn't one "best" vinyl. Each type is made for a different job, and we pick the film that fits your vehicle and your goals.

Full and partial wraps

Cast vinyl

Liquid vinyl is poured onto a smooth sheet and set without stretching. The result is a thin, relaxed film that conforms around curves, rivets and body lines.

Best for: full wraps and anything with curves.

Flat surfaces

Calendered vinyl

Vinyl is pressed and rolled into sheets. It's a little thicker and very cost-effective, and it performs great where the surface is flat.

Best for: lettering, door logos, box truck sides, signs and smaller projects.

Specialty

Specialty films

Reflective film, perforated window film you can see out of from inside, and other films made for specific uses.

Our wrap system

Avery Dennison MPI 1105 + DOL 1360 Max

For most full and partial wraps, we pair Avery Dennison MPI 1105 Easy Apply RS cast vinyl with Avery Dennison DOL 1360 Max gloss overlaminate.

MPI 1105 cast vinyl

A premium high-gloss cast film, about 2 mil thick, made for vehicle and fleet wraps. It conforms to curves, recesses, rivets and channels.

Easy Apply RS adhesive

Tiny air-release channels let air escape, and the film can be repositioned during install, so the finish goes on smooth and bubble-free.

Clean removal

The adhesive is designed to come off cleanly years later when it's time to remove or replace the wrap.

DOL 1360 Max laminate

The matching optically clear laminate that protects your print from sun, scratches and washing.

Using a matched film and laminate from the same manufacturer is part of what keeps a wrap eligible for Avery Dennison's ICS Performance Guarantee.

How long does a vehicle wrap last?

The biggest factor in wrap life is sun exposure, and that depends on which way each panel faces.

VERTICAL SIDES Lasts the longest ROOF + HOOD: DIRECT SUN, WEARS FASTER

Vertical surfaces

Doors, sides and tailgates get indirect sun and shed water, so they last the longest.

Horizontal surfaces

Hoods, roofs and trunks take direct overhead sun, heat and rain all day. It's normal for these to age before the sides, and film warranties don't cover them.

Other things that affect lifespan: parking outdoors vs. in a garage, Georgia heat and summer UV, how the vehicle is washed, and fuel, sap or bird droppings left sitting on the wrap.

What warranty comes with a vehicle wrap?

Material

Manufacturer warranty

Covers the material itself, such as fading, cracking or adhesive failure, when approved film, laminate, printer and inks are used together. A printed MPI 1105 wrap with DOL 1360 Max laminate is backed by the Avery Dennison ICS Performance Guarantee, covering vehicle graphics on vertical surfaces for up to 5 years, depending on the printer and inks used. Horizontal surfaces are not covered.

Workmanship

Installation warranty

Covers install-related issues like lifting edges or bubbling. Ask us about the warranty on your project, and we'll walk you through it.

What's not covered

Accidents, scratches, improper washing, pressure washing too close, fuel left on the wrap, aftermarket or damaged paint, and normal wear on horizontal surfaces.

How it works

What happens from order to install?

  1. Tell us about your businessAnswer a few questions about your business and vehicle, and send photos and your logo.
  2. Choose your design packagePick a new design or send your print-ready files, and check out with your deposit.
  3. We reach outA Wrap World team member contacts you within 1 to 2 business days to answer any questions.
  4. Perfect your designYour first concept arrives in 3 to 5 business days. Approve or request changes in Proofer, our online proofing system, until it looks perfect.
  5. Approve and scheduleNothing prints until you approve your proofs. Once you do, we lock in your install dates and print your wrap.
  6. Back on the roadOur in-house team installs your wrap, and most vehicles are back on the road in 1 to 3 days.

Most jobs take 2 to 4 weeks from order to install, depending on how quickly proofs are approved and our install schedule.

How many proofs and revisions do I get?

Your $699 design deposit includes your first concept plus 3 rounds of revisions. If you need more changes after that, additional artwork time is $100 per hour, and we'll always let you know before any extra time is billed.

What if I don't love my design?

Tell us! The more specific your feedback, the faster we get it right: what you like, what you don't, colors, layout, photos of wraps you love, anything that helps. Your designer uses that to adjust the next round, and nothing prints until you approve it. The design deposit covers your designer's time, so it is non-refundable.

Who owns the design files?

Once your project is paid in full, you own your approved design and can use it on other vehicles, signs, shirts and more. We keep your production files on record so reorders and new fleet vehicles match. Editable source files are available on request for a fee.

What if I already have print-ready artwork?

Send it over. There's a $150 setup fee. We check your files, size them to your vehicle and send proofs for approval before anything prints.

Can you wrap the windows?

Rear and side windows can be covered with perforated window film. From outside, people see your graphic. From inside, you can still see out. Front windshields and front side windows can't be covered.

Will a wrap damage my paint?

A wrap is only as good as the surface under it. Vinyl adhesive is designed to bond to healthy factory paint, and on that paint a quality film comes off cleanly.

  • Oxidized or faded paint is chalky and breaking down. Vinyl can't grip it properly, and the wrap may lift or fail.
  • Peeling clear coat can come off with the wrap during removal.
  • Aftermarket paint or body work often doesn't bond as strongly as factory paint, and may peel off when the wrap is removed. Fresh paint needs time to cure before it can be wrapped.
  • Rust and dents show through vinyl and can get worse underneath it.

That's why the paint must be 100% intact and free of rust and oxidation for us to take on a project. We ask every customer to confirm their vehicle has original factory paint in good condition, and to tell us about dents, scratches or aftermarket parts ahead of time.

How do I get my vehicle ready?

  • Drop it off clean the day before your install date, with no fresh wax or ceramic coating on the paint, so the adhesive can grip.
  • Fix peeling clear coat, rust or new body work first, and give fresh paint time to cure.
  • Remove anything you don't want wrapped around, like aftermarket racks or magnets, or tell us about them so we can plan around them.

How do I take care of my wrap?

Regular washing is the best thing you can do for your wrap. Aim for once a week, and at least every 2 weeks.

Do

  • Wait about a week after install before the first wash.
  • Wash it weekly, or at least every 2 weeks.
  • Hand wash when you can, with a soft mitt and pH-neutral car soap.
  • Wipe up fuel spills right away, then wash the area.
  • Clean off bird droppings, sap and bugs quickly.
  • Use products made for vinyl wraps, and only matte-safe products on matte finishes.
  • Park in a garage whenever possible.

Don't

  • Use brush car washes. They scratch, dull and lift edges.
  • Pressure wash closer than 12 inches, or spray directly at edges or seams.
  • Use rubbing compounds, waxes or polishes made for paint, or harsh solvents.
  • Let contaminants sit on the wrap.
  • Go weeks without washing it.

The sun is a wrap's biggest enemy

UV and heat break down vinyl and laminate over time. Parking in a garage or out of direct sun is one of the easiest ways to help your wrap last.

What about touchless car washes?

Touchless washes carry some risk of damage from high pressure and strong chemicals, but they're still better than not washing your wrap at all.

Can I ceramic coat my wrap?

Yes, you can ceramic coat your wrap once a year for extra protection, but it voids the manufacturer's warranty, so keep that in mind before you do.

Can a wrap be removed?

Wraps are designed to be removed, but timing matters. A wrap left on well past its life can bake onto the paint, making removal slower and leaving more adhesive behind. If your wrap is cracking, fading heavily or peeling, it's time to talk about a new wrap. We remove the old one as part of re-wrapping your vehicle.

Professional removal uses heat to soften the vinyl so it releases cleanly. On factory paint in good condition, the paint underneath should look like it did the day the wrap went on.

Vehicle wrap FAQ

Straight answers to the questions business owners ask us most.

Cost and payment

How much does a commercial vehicle wrap cost?

A partial to full wrap (roof not included) typically runs:

  • ProMaster or cargo van: $3,000 to $5,500
  • Crew cab pickup truck: $2,500 to $4,500
  • 16' trailer: $2,500 to $5,500

Your exact price depends on the vehicle's size, how much of it is covered, the design and the materials. Get your price online in a few minutes.

What's the difference between a full wrap, partial wrap and lettering?

A full wrap covers the painted body of the vehicle. A partial wrap (3/4 or 1/3 coverage) covers part of the vehicle and blends your graphics into the paint color, for a bold look at a lower price. Lettering is cut vinyl for your logo, phone number and website, the most budget-friendly option, with a 2-vehicle minimum. Compare coverage options.

Do you offer fleet discounts?

Yes. We offer fleet discounts when multiple vehicles are ordered at the same time.

Do you require a deposit?

New designs start with a $699 design deposit, which covers your designer's time and is non-refundable. If you send your own print-ready files, there's no deposit, just a $150 setup fee. See our terms and conditions for full payment details.

Design and artwork

Can Wrap World design my wrap if I don't have artwork?

Yes. Our designers create custom commercial wrap designs from your logo, photos of your vehicle and a short brief about your business. Your $699 design deposit includes your first concept plus 3 rounds of revisions. Start your design.

Do I need a vector logo?

Vector files are preferred (AI, EPS, SVG or a vector PDF), but we can work with what you have. If you only have a JPG or PNG, send the largest version you can find and we'll let you know if it needs to be recreated.

What do I need to get started?

Your vehicle's year, make and model, photos of all four sides, your logo and any brand colors or guidelines. Our online order form walks you through it.

Can I see a proof before printing?

Always. Proofs are sent through Proofer, our online proofing system, where you approve them or request changes. Nothing prints until you approve.

Can you match my branding across multiple vehicles?

Yes, and color consistency matters a lot to us. We match your brand colors to Pantone references and keep your production files on record, so your fifth truck matches your first.

Can I reorder a wrap from a previous project?

Yes. We keep your production files, so adding a new vehicle to your fleet is easy. Choose "returning customer" on our order form.

Can you update my phone number or logo without redoing the whole wrap?

Yes, in most cases. We can print an overlay that covers just the part that changed, like a new phone number, website or logo.

Your vehicle

What types of vehicles can you wrap?

Work vans like ProMasters, Transits and Sprinters, pickup trucks, box trucks, trailers and whole fleets. We focus on commercial vehicles for service businesses, and we don't wrap RVs or do personal color-change wraps.

Can you wrap a leased vehicle?

Yes. Leased vehicles get wrapped all the time. On healthy factory paint, a quality wrap removes cleanly when it's time to turn the vehicle in.

What if my vehicle has scratches, rust or damaged paint?

To take on a project, the paint has to be 100% intact and free of rust and oxidation. Scratches are case by case, so send us photos. Aftermarket painted areas carry a risk: when the wrap is removed, that paint can separate from the body.

Are vehicle wraps worth it for a small business?

For most service businesses, yes. Your truck already goes to job sites, sits in driveways and drives through your service area every day. A wrap turns it into advertising you pay for once, and makes your crew look established and trustworthy when they pull up.

Install, shipping and timing

How long does it take to design, print and install a wrap?

Most jobs take 2 to 4 weeks from order to install. Your first concept arrives in 3 to 5 business days, printing takes 2 to 3 days after you approve your proof, and install typically takes 1 to 2 days.

Do I need to leave my vehicle at your shop?

Yes. Drop your vehicle off clean the day before your scheduled install date. The install itself typically takes 1 to 2 days.

Can you ship a wrap to me?

Yes, anywhere in the continental US. Shipping typically takes 3 to 5 business days by UPS Ground and costs around $60 per box. Larger wraps may ship in more than one box. Have a professional installer put it on, and ask them about their install warranty.

Can a damaged wrap be repaired?

Yes. We can reprint and replace a damaged panel. On an older wrap, the new panel may not match perfectly because the original has gradually faded in the sun, so we'll talk through that with you first.

Do you remove old wraps or lettering?

Yes, when we're re-wrapping the vehicle. We don't offer removal-only services.
